How to Register as a Leader

Contact east@bigweekout.org.au or west@bigweekout.org.au for more information

1. Pray

Prayerfully consider your involved in Big Week Out.

We encourage leaders of all ages, from all denominations and of varying skills and abilities to register. However, the one thing we value the most is your faith in God and your passion in seeing his love brought into action. As a leader on BIG WEEK OUT you will be expected to model Christ's love and to encourage participants to get passionate about serving both God, each other and the world around us. We ask that you take this responsibility seriously and take some time to consider your involvement.

2. Register on Join-a-Team

Head to the Join-a-Team (JAT) website to begin your application...

If you haven't used Join-a-Team before then you'll need to create an account. Previous users will have a lot of information pre-filled (potentially also including previous ChildSafe records)!

3. ChildSafe Requirements

Pick the scenario below that describes you:

"I have completed SUSA ChildSafe Training in the past three years."
You will need to provide proof of this to your base leader if it isn't pre-filled into JAT.

"I have completed a similar course in the past three years."

"I have not completed any ChildSafe or similar courses in the past three years."
Scripture Union have just released a new Team Member module (TM3) so you will need to attend the Big Week Out ChildSafe training evening either in person (for free!) or online (and pay the fee) (please contact your base leader).

Applications for a WWCC check can take up to 6 weeks. Either:

  • Start WWCC yourself (you will need to forward your check to SU office once it is processed (leanne@susa.org.au)

  • Start WWCC check through Scripture Union office. Your check will be forwarded to SUSA and yourself automatically once processed.

5. Pay!

Leader registration for 2020 will be announced soon - but there is a $10 Super Early Bird and $5 Early Bird discount if you start your application before the 1st of December 2019!
